Apprenticeship - Electrical Fitter (Motor Repair)

    Sulzer are currently seeking an enthusiastic, determined and mechanically-minded individual  interested in completing an Electrical Fitter Apprenticeship in a hands on, workshop environment.

    Reporting to the Section Supervisor, your primary work environment would be part of a team that specializes in repair and overhaul of rotating equipment. Training will be provided in the areas of:

  • Electrical and mechanical repairs  - electric motors / generators and pumps
  • Rewinding of electric motors and
  • Electrical testing.

    ELIGIBILITY

  • Successful completion of Year 10 or 12(with pass or higher level results achieved in Maths and English);
  • Sound written skills;
  • Sound mechanical aptitude;
  • Sound computer skills;
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks;
  • Ability to work in confined spaces;
  • Valid manual driver's license or ability to obtain;
  • Transportation to and from work;
  • Valid Australian working rights.

    Site work and additional training opportunities may become available to those apprentices who go above and beyond in their performance, consistently demonstrating initiative and strong workplace safety practices.
