About the Role
Our client is seeking a professional and well organised Service Technician to work autonomously based in a high quality, modern workshop in Melbourne (near the Airport). With all new equipment, the focus of the new workshop is glass materials handling and products as well as all the other elevated work platform and specialised access machinery. This position requires a Service Technician who thrives on providing high-quality customer service and who has exception mechanical service, maintenance and repair standards.  
  
This is a varied role and comes with a high degree of responsibility. You will be required to effectively prioritise your workload across a number of different tasks which include; coordination of workflow, subcontractors and transport; mechanical service, maintenance and repair works; completion of pre-delivering checks and loading machinery; inductions of operators on various sites; and regular communication with the Management.

  
Key responsibilities will include:

• Successfully communicate with customers and suppliers to understand each specific customer’s requirements
• Coordination of workflow, subcontractors and transport companies
• Attend to on-site mechanical servicing, maintenance and repair of equipment
• Completing pre-delivery checks and loading of machinery
• Attend sites to induct operators
• Regular, accurate communication with the Service Manager and Service Agents
• Willingness to continually learn and advance with product changes and advancements
• Dedication to providing high-quality workmanship in mechanical service, maintenance and repair

To be successful for this role you must have the following:

• A demonstrated history of field service working in a mechanical capacity
• Previous experience working on automotive electrical and proficiency with hydraulic systems is essential
• A highly organised nature and proven organisational skills in mechanical workflow
• Excellent customer service skills and a genuine, great nature
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, Excel in particular) and experience with work order systems
• A trade qualification in mechanical automotive or similar with solid experience working on elevated work platforms and access equipment. In addition, an electrical background/qualification will also be well regarded
