Toowomba Workshop Position

Prodotti Engineering Pty Ltd is recognised as a leading engineering and fabrication supplier within Toowoomba and Darling Downs, concentrating on fabrication and installation within the Mining, Waste Management, agriculture and automobile industry sectors.

Due to our continuing development and increase in workload, we have a position open for a proficient and experienced Boiler Maker (Leading Hand) The position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Job tasks and responsibilities

High achieving Boiler Maker  with excellent leadership skills with the desire to produce high quality work.

Skills and experience

Required

• Experience in flat plate fabrication and ability and desire to produce the highest quality fabrications to AS 1554 part 1 and part 4.
• Ability to work and lead in a team Environment with Skilled trades people
• Effective communication skills both written and oral
• Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
• Reading and interpreting drawings
• Liaise with the Production Manager on all aspects of production to ensure delivery and quality requirements are met
• Liaise with the Responsible Welding supervisor for allocation of weld procedures and welder qualifications
• Resolve technical problems on the workshop floor
• Basic Computer Skills

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate some or all of the following key attributes:

• Certificate III – Engineering or Similar trade qualification
• Strong leadership skills, Ability to effectively work with and manage others
• Ability to think laterally problem solve in a creative manner
• A broad knowledge of the skills and technical aspects of the engineering metal trades and practices
• Highly organised and maintain high work standards with attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills and able to work with all staff across all levels
• Good computer skills
   

The following would be a distinct advantage:

• Post trade certified in AS1796 certificate 7, 8G 
• Experience with flux -cored arc welding (FCAW or FCA) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
• Lean Manufacturing tool kits experience

• High end engineering drawing interpretation skills

Licences

• A current QLD 'C' open drivers licence
