Ultra NDT Pty Ltd are a small, locally owned NDT company based in Stanwell, 30klms west of Rockhampton, Qld. We service the coal mines of the Bowen Basin, specialising in in-service welding certification & machinery inspection.
We are currently seeking an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join our team.
The position will be on an even time roster, reporting directly to the owner. Meals & accommodation will be supplied where required.

This position is a hands on technical position.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Translate NDT codes, standards, specifications and procedures into NDT instructions
- Set up and verify equipment settings
- Ensure that all NDT equipment is within calibration before use
- Select the NDT technique for the test method to be used
- Define the limitations of application of the testing method
- Perform and supervise tests
- Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable codes, standards, specifications or procedures
- Prepare NDT instructions
- Comply with the requirements of the company's quality system
- Report the results of non-destructive tests
- Plan & execute tasks with a focus on time, budget & quality.
Requirements & Experience
- A current coal board medical
- Standard 11 certificate – RII20213 Certificate II in Surface Extraction Operations
- Working at heights certificate – RIIWHS204D
- Confined space certificate – RIIWHS202D
Applicants with AINDT Level 2 in the following methods would be highly regarded.
- Magnetic Particle Inspection
- Ultrasonic Testing
