Detail information about job University Sexual Assault and Harassment Adviser. Terms and conditions vacancy

Salary range: £29,301 - £37,183 (pro rata for job share)

The role of University Sexual Assault and Harassment Advisor sits within the University Counselling Service, alongside a multi-disciplinary team of Counsellors, Mental Health Advisors, and a Mindfulness Practitioner.

The role-holder will be educated to first-degree level or hold an equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent relevant experience. An accredited ISVA qualification or a willingness to attend training and obtain one is a key requirement for this post.

This new post has been created to supplement and bolster the advice and support available to a student through his or her College's tutorial system, and in particular offer a source of specialist emotional and practical support to students following sexual harassment or sexual assault.

This is a significant position in this large, busy and well-respected multi-disciplinary Counselling Service. Further information about the Service, is available from: www.counselling.cam.ac.uk

The University Sexual Assault and Harassment Advisor will work with staff of the Collegiate University as well as external agencies to develop and enhance the support available to students of the university.

The work will involve individual work with students. It will also include designing and running workshops for staff from time to time, and offering consultation when requested to those within the University who have pastoral responsibilities for student welfare.

Such work should be carried out with consideration of the University context in which it occurs, liaising with others within the Service, the University and beyond, as necessary.

The post is year round, and since it is a new role it might change as time progresses.

It is an exciting time to be joining the University Counselling Service. The well-established and respected team has undertaken some recent changes. New therapeutic and administrative staff have joined the team since the appointment of a new Head of Service over three years ago. The Service has been integrated into the Unified Administrative Service and it will move to a new purpose-built city centre location in 2018.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with children and adults' barred lists).
