Detail information about job Research Fellow (77111-087). Terms and conditions vacancy

Fixed Term contract for 12 months, with the possibility to extend. A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the area of the design and analysis of randomized and sublinear algorithms is available for 12 months, with the possibility to extend. The start date can be negotiated for the successful candidate. The position is available in connection with a research grant of Professor Artur Czumaj (http://www.dcs.warwick.ac.uk/~czumaj/) and the main objective is to pursue cutting edge research in the broadly understood area of design and mathematical analysis of randomized and sublinear algorithms, and the study of efficient and/or sublinear-time and/or streaming approximation algorithms for combinatorial and optimization problems. You will have a strong background in the mathematical analysis of algorithms, with a specialization in randomized algorithms, graph algorithms, discrete mathematics, combinatorics, or probability theory. You will have (or expect to obtain shortly) a PhD in the relevant area. You should provide with your application form a CV, including a list of publications, a research statement, and a short statement highlighting your suitability for this post. You will be formally based in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Warwick, and you will be associated with the Centre for Discrete Mathematics and its Applications (http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/cross_fac/dimap) and the Division of Theory and Foundations at the University of Warwick. For further information, please contact Professor Czumaj (http://www.dcs.warwick.ac.uk/~czumaj/). If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,936 pa). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,799 pa).
