Detail information about job GP Academic Training Fellow. Terms and conditions vacancy

In conjunction with Morecambe Bay CCG we have established an innovative six-year Clinical Academic Training Fellowship designed to allow you to undertake academic training on a part-time basis whilst maintaining and developing your clinical expertise as a GP. The Fellowship can be held on a full-time or less-than-full-time basis (minimum 0.7FTE); you will undertake academic training on a 0.5FTE basis and in the remaining time (maximum 0.5FTE, minimum 0.2FTE) you will undertake clinical work in one or more practices in the Morecambe Bay geography.

The Fellowship will allow you to complete a PhD in one of Lancaster University’s health-related research themes – this particular Fellowship will be focused on Digital Health. You will contribute to teaching on the Lancaster MBChB programme and will have the opportunity to complete a relevant teaching qualification. During the Fellowship you will also work as a GP in one or more local practices.

You will have a strong academic record and should have completed your CCT in General Practice (or expect to do so prior to starting). You will be able to demonstrate commitment to an academic career and interest in undertaking research in Digital Health.   Further details about the Faculty and the Medical School can be found at http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/fhm/.

Please note – final confirmation appointment will be subject to confirmation of the practice at which you will undertake your clinical work. This is expected to be confirmed by end-September 2017.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
