The Edge Hotel School is the only hotel school of its kind in the UK. Students study a BA (Hons) Hotel Management degree whilst gaining experience in a 4 star hotel, on the University of Essex Colchester Campus. About the role:
We are seeking to recruit an excellent lecturer in Hospitality/Event Management to take responsibility for the teaching, delivery and assessment of units from Level 4 to Level 6. Subject areas could include aspects of hospitality and events strategy, consumer behaviour, food and beverage, finance and revenue management, marketing or personal and professional development. You will act as an academic mentor and course coordinator to degree students and join a team of motivated lecturers who are engaged in bringing commercial experiences from the hospitality industry to student education as well as the opportunity to undertake research within an operational hotel.
About you:
You will have a relevant degree, or preferably post graduate qualification, and a proven academic and/or practical background within hospitality. You will ideally hold an appropriate teaching qualification or be willing to work toward the achievement of one. Evidenced recent experience of quality assurance and dissertation supervision would be an advantage.
