The Department of Management at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position offering applicants an exciting opportunity to join a new research project on Business Ethics and Moral Psychology.
The starting date is December 1st, 2017 or subject to mutual agreement.
The research project The research project is a major initiative focused on business ethics and corruptive environments. This initiative will do research on unethical behavior in organizations and businesses and aim to provide theories of moral psychology that play a vital role in explaining some of the immoral developments in the business world and will aim to improve the effectiveness of the security mechanisms implemented. The post in question will suit a candidate with relevant experience in experimental design and an interest in conducting experiments that have direct application to policy. The project contributes to the fields of management and psychology and will employ both theoretical and empirical tools. The project is expected to generate high-quality research and co-authored, high-impact factor, peer-reviewed publications (a minimum of four).
Job description The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the overall objectives of the project by being involved in (field and lab) experimental designs, data collection, and development of theoretical tools. The candidate is also expected to contribute to all phases of the research process, including data analysis, writing articles and to the ongoing development of the project, and grant proposals. The project will be under the supervision of Panos Mitkidis (Aarhus University & Duke University) and Dan Ariely (Duke University).
The position is research-oriented but may involve teaching and/or supervision assignments.
Qualifications Candidates must hold a PhD relevant to the academic areas of the Department of Management, preferably within one or more of the following areas: Psychology, Behavioral Economics or another relevant field.
Other requirements include
- Publication experience
- Experience with designing, analyzing and reporting experimental or survey research
- Excellent knowledge in the areas of behavioral economics, psychology and decision-making
- Excellent research skills, including statistical and methodological knowledge and experience
- Experience in course teaching
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Excellent knowledge of office and statistical software
- Motivation to work independently as well as cooperatively in an international team
