University Secretarys Group
The Institute for Academic Development (IAD) provides University-level support for learning, teaching and researcher development. Within the University, we work in partnership with academic departments (the University’s Schools and Colleges) and other services to support students and staff to develop and thrive as learners, teachers and researchers. We also work with external partners, including other universities in the UK and internationally, on a range of academic development, research and consultancy projects. Collaboration and innovation is at the heart of our work.
In this 3-year fixed-term role, you will lead the development of course and programme design workshops and consultancy across the University in collaboration with colleagues. You will also manage and develop the IAD’s highly successful Teaching Matters blog. The post will involve working with a range of staff and students across the University. You should have a strong interest in learning, teaching, assessment, course design and student engagement. You will have relevant experience of higher education learning and teaching, excellent planning and organisational skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and experience of writing for different audiences.
