Detail information about job Trainee Teacher of Business Studies. Terms and conditions vacancy
Would you like to train as a teacher in the post-compulsory sector whilst being paid to do so?
The College has substantial, successful experience of training teachers and now wishes to appoint a Trainee Teacher of Business Studies.
The successful applicant will be given a fixed-term contract over the training period and will divide their time between teaching and learning support duties. The College has a well-developed mentoring system and comprehensive professional development opportunities, through which the trainees will be fully supported towards a PGCE Post Compulsory Education qualification. Applicants must have a relevant degree and must not already have a teaching qualification. They must also demonstrate a commitment to a career in teaching and preferably have experience of working with young adults.
As a trainee, your typical week will comprise teaching usually between 1 to 17 periods per week, with preparation and marking time. The remainder of your time will be spent as a Learning Facilitator, either supporting in class or working with individual students. You will be required to attend a training course on one evening per week throughout each year at Reigate College. You will also be expected to attend various evenings throughout the year such as Open Evenings and Parental Consultations.
This post is a fixed term, full-time appointment from 1st September 2017 to 5th July 2019. It is important to note that the College is unable to guarantee you any employment once your training is complete. Trainees are paid from £14,394 to £18,181 per annum (including local allowance), depending on the balance of duties between teaching and learning support.
Candidates are asked to complete the Teachers Application Form and return it to the Personnel Officer ([email protected]) as soon as possible, but no later than 9.00 a.m. on Monday 11th September 2017. In completing their supporting statement, candidates are asked to indicate the particular strengths and experiences they would bring to the post and the areas of College life, outside their teaching, to which they may be prepared to contribute.
