What you’ll do
You will work closely with the Programme Leader to realise the strategic vision of the School of Health, Faculty of Nursing to deliver our BSc Nursing Programme. Key Responsibilities will include:
Product Landscape
- Liaise with relevant institutes/professional bodies/practice placement providers, where necessary
- Contribute to the management of the academic content and pedagogy of module
- Liaise with Programme Administrator
Quality
- Contribute to the quality monitoring and continuous improvement activity in line with BPP’s General Academic Regulations and policies
- Contribute to the analyse / quality indicators for programme quality/student performance and monitor and act upon them where necessary
- Attended Examination Boards
- Attend School of Heath Board
- Liaise with External Examiners
Teaching & Student Support
- Undertake lecturing appropriate to the level of responsibility of the role
- Support student through the completion of academic work
- Support student through practice based learning and assessment
- Support student who face challenges with progression / completion of their studies
- Advise and action student referrals to other University Central support services
Assessments
- Engage in academic marking
- Engage in academic moderation
- Moderate Practice Assessment Documentation
- Prepare and Support Mentors in the practice area
Role requirements
Essential:
- Current NMC Registration
- A teaching qualification or Fellowship of the HEA (desirable) or a commitment to achieving either of these through BPP’s PGCPE (Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Education) or Headway, BPP’s accredited CPD scheme (essential)
- Mentor qualification
- Facilitate student evaluation where appropriate
- Facilitate student support
- Expertise in lecturing and designing modules and programmes
- A proven track record of delivering on time, on budget and using your own initiative
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to listen and seek out the opinion of others
- Facilitate student feedback to aid learning
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Evidence of CPD
Desirable
- Experience of Curriculum Implementation
- Marking of work and preparation of results for Exam Boards
- An ability to prioritise your own work and the work of others
- Strong skills in organisation, coordination, planning, people management and influencing.
- A track record in research and translating research into teaching and education.
