We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated manager to join our Jinhua Polytechnic Wintec International College.
The Jinhua Polytechnic International College is an academic institution operated and managed by Jinhua Polytechnic, China and Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) New Zealand. The international college initially began teaching English Language and then IT qualifications at diploma level in 2015.
The is a new role, employed by Wintec. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of English Language Teachers, Information Technology and Engineering Teachers, ensuring an engaged, high-performing and stable team. You will also teach on the English Language programme for approximately 0.5 time and teaching load.
To be successful in this role you will:
Lead and manage staff
- Create a positive and supportive environment in which staff are engaged and high performing
- Provide leadership and management in teaching quality and effective programme management
Communication
- Provide an effective communication channel between Wintec, Wintec’s international college staff and Jinhua Polytechnic staff
Teaching
- Teach on the English Language programme, ensuring students are able to understand the IT content delivered in their IT classes
We are looking for someone who’s values and approach are aligned to Wintec’s and who has:
- experience managing a small to medium-sized team
- demonstrated building and maintaining effective and positive relationships with staff, partners and colleagues
- a management or leadership qualification
- an undergraduate degree and postgraduate qualification in ELT or Master’s degree
- a teaching qualification (preferred)
- experience teaching internationally.
Also key to this role for us is to find a person who is personally resilient, flexible and can successfully manage ambiguity. This is a unique opportunity to work for a New Zealand institution in China in a management position with the chance to build a creative and energetic NZ team. This is a fixed term role for a term of up to two years as agreed.
