Detail information about job Two Professors of Law. Terms and conditions vacancy

The University of Liverpool’s School of Law and Social Justice, formed of Liverpool Law School and the Department of Sociology, Social Policy, and Criminology, has recently undergone a period of significant growth. Since its formation in 2010, the School of Law and Social Justice has sought to build on its existing strengths through enhanced support for research, the development of innovative education models, an emphasis on outward-facing academic engagement, and a School-wide commitment to the agenda of social justice. In doing so, the School aims to make a distinctive contribution to world-class scholarship, knowledge exchange, and policy development.

Liverpool Law School aims to be at the forefront of legal research, education, and engagement. The Department has a strong research ethos and prides itself on its supportive and collegiate environment. It is also committed to innovative teaching and learning strategies, which enable students to benefit from both traditional and modern approaches and technologies, in order to help them acquire knowledge and develop key skills within a stimulating and positive learning environment. With a global reputation for intellectual leadership, academic rigour, and public debate, Liverpool Law School also acts as a leader in public engagement internationally.

The School of Law and Social Justice now seeks to make two appointments to Liverpool Law School, both at Professorial level. As full Professors, both appointees will be expected to conduct their own programme of research that is of an internationally excellent or world-leading standard, including the regular production of high calibre research outputs; the provision of academic leadership, supervision and mentorship of junior colleagues; an ability to provide innovative and engaging teaching; the ability to secure a high volume of research grants from a range of sources; and the ability to identify and energise collaborative research activity within the Law School, across the University, and externally.

The salary for each role will be competitive and will be made at an appropriate point on the Professorial academic pay scale, commensurate with experience. The position will be based in Liverpool, England.
