Job PurposeThe School of Social & Political Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Criminology to join a vibrant group of criminological scholars and postgraduates working within the Sociology subject area who are also part of the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research (SCCJR). We particularly welcome applications from candidates with research interests and expertise in one or more of the following areas: transnational crime/justice; policing and crime control; security and surveillance; border criminology, and; global and comparative criminology.
The post-holder will conduct high-quality research and knowledge exchange activities in the field of Criminology; make a substantial contribution to learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and undertake management and administrative duties as directed by the Head of School and/or Head of Subject.

Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 7/8, £33,943 - £38,183 / £41,709 - £48,327 per annum.
New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
