Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work in the research group of Dr. Alessandro Pandini on the research project "An integrated computational-experimental method to redesign protein dynamics".
The appointee will develop, test and apply novel computational approaches to rationally redesign protein dynamics. The work will involve design and implementation of a novel code, preparation and execution of large scale molecular simulations, analysis of results and integration with experimental data generated at Queen Mary University London (QMUL).
This appointment is funded by the Leverhulme Trust for 24 months. The research project is in collaboration with Dr James Garnett at QMUL.
The appointee will have the opportunity to further extend and develop their expertise in software development for protein design, intepretation of experimental data on protein ensembles and use of GPU-based high performance computing.
Candidates are expected to hold a PhD, or equivalent qualification, in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Biophysics, Computational Biology or relevant discipline and have an established track record of success in high-quality original research. Previous experience in biomolecular simulations, scientific programming and protein structure prediction or design is essential. Knowledge of high performance computing environments and data analysis in ‘R’ statistical software is desirable.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK.
