Our Institute of Childhood and Education ICE was formed in 2015 by bringing together the previously separate departments of Teacher Education Primary and Secondary and Children, Young People and Families.
We work with sector agencies operating in Children’s Services and Education to develop innovative, research-based approaches to practice in this challenging area. We are renowned for our excellence in teacher training and are one of the most respected teacher training providers in the UK, working in close partnership with over 600 schools to offer students a variety of pathways into teaching.
This post offers an outstanding opportunity to an exceptional leader. We are seeking an experienced, talented and ambitious leader to further shape a flexible, outward facing and responsive Institute, capitalising on the synergies that exist between our work in teacher training and our work with children, young people and families.
The Director will be expected to provide academic leadership to the Institute. In particular they will need to identify potential new opportunities for the Institute, lead on strategy and policy development, ensure efficient staff and resource management and further develop a high quality student experience.
