The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. Based within NDPH, The Translational Epidemiology Unit (TEU) establishes causes of disease and translates epidemiologic findings to population-wide interventions to improve the public health through precision prevention.

We are seeking a Medical Statistician to join a multidisciplinary team involved in the design, conduct and analysis of studies of main genetic and non-genetic causes of common chronic diseases. Your role will involve undertaking detailed statistical analysis of large, complex and multi-dimensional data collected or to be generated. You will have the opportunity to develop your own research ideas, present at scientific meetings and contribute to papers in high profile publications.

To be considered you will have a PhD in statistics or a closely related field (or equivalent work experience) and a good degree in a numerate discipline. You will also require understanding of common statistical methods used in medical research and a working knowledge of at least one statistical package such as Stata, SAS or R.

The post is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance.
