Office of the President

The President, as Chief Executive Officer of the University of Limerick, is ultimately responsible for all of the operations of the University. He has proposed and received approval for a new Executive Leadership structure for the University to support the implementation of good practice and to put in place the leadership to lead and drive the implementation of the University’s strategy and academic ambition.  This structure will have a number of new roles critical among which is the following role:

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Engagement

The role of Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Engagement (VPA) is a new role at the University of Limerick and results from the restructuring of the Vice President Academic and Registrar role and function. This is a key appointment and the role is critical to delivering the University’s mission and ambition.

The VPA at the University of Limerick will be a member of the Executive Committee with specific line management responsibility for the implementation of the key academic aspects of the University’s strategy, and a number of acadmeic service areas including Programme Development, Academic Registry, Centre for Teaching and Learning, Quality Support Unit, Academic Strategic Planning, Continuing Professional Education, Graduate School, Cooperative Education, and Careers Division. Working closely with the Deans, she/he will drive the strategic development of the University and propose interventions designed to further enhance our academic performance.
