Due to planned growth in Northumbria’s London Campus we have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Business faculty as a Programme Leader for MSc in Leadership and Management in London. Northumbria’s Business School is the first in Europe to gain double AACSB accreditation (Business & Management and Accounting) from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, positioning it as part of an elite group of the top 1% business schools worldwide.
The successful post holder will be employed by QA Higher Education (QAHE) who works in partnership with Northumbria University to deliver and manage the courses in London.
The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Programme Leader to lead our leadership and management programmes with the initial responsibility to establish an MSc in this subject area. The successful candidate will play a leading role in forging the identity for this programme and establishing its success; requiring the development of a close working relationship with the faculty at the Northumbria University Newcastle campus.
The role of the Programme Leader is to be responsible for; in conjunction with other Programme Leaders; the organisation; management and academic experience of the students on the programme. Programme leaders are expected to play an active part in the development of our portfolio of programmes associated with Leadership and Management. There is a need to provide strong leadership to the team of staff who contribute to the teaching of the modules to ensure that the programme is academically reflective the latest developments in the subject area and is responsive to market need. A further responsibility will be the development of appropriate strategies for engaging students, for example in generating ideas for enhancing our provision, in order to enhance their academic and personal experience.
We envisage that the successful candidate will become the foundation for the development and enhancements of a number of exciting initiatives that are taking place at both Northumbria and QA within the specialism of Leadership and Management.
The ideal candidate should have some experience of leading undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in the subject area of Leadership and Management or related subjects. There is a requirement to be AACSB accredited and to have extensive and detailed knowledge and subject expertise evidenced by research and/or consultancy and be able to foster and develop collaborative links with academic, business, third sector and public sector partners.
