Salary: Senior Lecturer: £39,324 - £48,327;  Lecturer: £33,943 - £38,183

The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is passionate about the principles and applications of Science and Technology in all its forms and strives to be excellent in research, teaching and innovation.

Working within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, you will provide expertise in areas of Sport Development to further enhance research, teaching and entrepreneurial activities. This will include designing, developing and delivering high quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and joint research to produce quality academic outputs and inform teaching and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject. The Department has particular strengths in coaching skills, practice and behaviour, sport and community, managing sport development and Physical Education & School Sport. Candidates with expertise in Physical Education and coaching within a sport development context are welcome to apply. The post will also involve a contribution to Sport Development based teaching and will involve leading on Sport Development Coaching and/or Physical Education & School Sport related modules. The department will consider high quality applicants in any area of related research.

You must hold a first degree and be either qualified (SL) or soon to be qualified (L) to Doctoral level in a relevant discipline and have subject expertise in Sport Development with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. Proven ability to deliver high quality research led teaching within an appropriate field and a publication or potential publication profile are desirable for this role. Membership (or eligibility for membership) of a relevant professional body is desirable.
