Do you have experience of creating, publishing and maintaining content for the Web? Are you web and social media savvy?

We are seeking to recruit a Communications Assistant to join our Quality and Marketing team. The team currently provides assistance with online and printed materials, displays, newsletters, events, blogs, website updates, social media, posters and other print/digital signage.

As a Communications Assistant you will update the family of IS web sites comprising, Library services, IT services, the IS site as well as checking, editing and modifying existing paper-based documentation.

The role will include regular compilation of website, newsletter and social media content to support the team in researching and gathering information through internal/external data in order to inform projects and development and provide evaluation of campaigns/website through Google Analytics, gathering feedback data and helping with surveys and other feedback techniques. The role will involve internal events support.

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Have at least 2 A-levels or the equivalent.
  • Experience of writing accurate and accessible content on and off-line and experience of creating, publishing and maintaining content for the Web.
  • A clear understanding of disseminating information via online and social media and experience of promoting or marketing services or facilities.

Information Services is comprised of four sections: Customer Support, Library Collections and IT Development together directly support almost all areas of University activity, and the Planning and Administration section supports the work of the department. The IT Support Services subsection of Customer Services is responsible for the support and operation of all live central IT systems on the University’s Canterbury, Medway and Tonbridge campuses.
