Based in Milton Keynes
As an academic-related member of both the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Psychology, you will have a key role in keeping us in the forefront of supported distance higher education, particularly in designing and facilitating effective delivery of teaching of the School’s psychology modules, qualifications and programmes. You will also be responsible for the selection, monitoring and staff development of part-time Associate Lecturers, who teach modules across 4 BPS accredited undergraduate psychology qualifications, a counselling qualification, and 2 postgraduate qualifications. You will work with a number of virtual teams as well as individuals, and should have excellent organisational, communication and relationship management skills.
You will hold as a minimum requirement a first degree (or equivalent) in psychology or a cognate area, and have relevant experience of teaching and management of teaching, and student support. You will possess an understanding of issues of access, retention and diversity and other current and topical issues in higher education teaching and student support.
You will be based at Milton Keynes with the expectation that you will be present in the location on average 3 days a week, with the remainder of your time worked from home. Travel to other UK locations for School or Faculty work may be expected periodically.
