The Faculty of Arts is seeking a Course Director to develop and lead its new Liberal Arts programme (first intake September 2018). The Director will provide academic and organisational leadership, be responsible for programme design and development, will contribute to teaching and student support and also play a leading role in open days, marketing & student recruitment, outreach, and review/quality assurance activities. Applications are welcome from candidates who wish to be wholly engaged in teaching (R&T: Teaching) or combine research and teaching (R&T: Research and Teaching).

Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area or demonstrate equivalent extensive professional experience. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of teaching and curriculum design, be able to demonstrate a record of excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, have a track record of teaching innovation, and a commitment to delivery of quality services to students. The role holder will have proven strategy, leadership, and management experience, as well as experience of leading student recruitment activities. Applicants applying through the research and teaching track will also be able to demonstrate a record of sustained publication and dissemination of research in order to contribute to the University’s research culture and REF.
