Fixed-Term for 5 years (Initial 2 year fixed-term contract with the possibility of a further 3 year extension dependent on academic progress)
The Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation offers an extensive and successful portfolio of teaching, research and innovation across the breadth of sport and physiotherapy disciplines. The Faculty has experienced a remarkable period of growth embracing a £5 million refurbishment of bioscience and psychology laboratories and a state-of-the-art suite of sport science laboratories, sports courts and track that form part of a £30 million Sport Central City Campus investment.
Working within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, you will contribute to research, teaching and entrepreneurial activities in Physiotherapy. The department has particular strengths within its extensive and successful portfolio of teaching, research and innovation in Health and Rehabilitation and Human Performance.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality teaching activities and supporting senior staff with module delivery, and undertaking individual Doctoral research to produce quality academic outputs. You will be supported to undertake a PhD and in your own development as a researcher and as an educator.
You must hold a good honours degree and have passion for developing knowledge within the subject area of Physiotherapy. You will be required to study for a Doctoral qualification in this area, within the capabilities of staff supervision. It is preferable that this PhD is within the area of adult long-term condition management/prevention. This could be in any of the fields of MSK, Neurological or Cardio respiratory physiotherapy
