The Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health is seeking to appoint a research associate to contribute to carrying out and analysing trials to improve uptake of cancer screening and the write up of data from population-based surveys on help-seeking among people with comorbidities.
The successful applicant will join a thriving research group working on behavioural aspects of cancer screening.
The post is available immediately until 31 December 2018 and is funded by the Department of Health.
Applicants should have an excellent academic record with a first degree in psychology (2.1 or 1st class honours), or a related discipline and research experience, and a PhD (or equivalent research experience). A postgraduate qualification in Health Psychology (merit or distinction) is desirable.
Knowledge of UK cancer screening policy is essential, as is experience of quantitative data analysis (with SPSS or equivalent) and excellent communication skills.
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD. If this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £29,809 - £31,432 per annum inclusive of London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
