The Department of Biomedical Sciences, and the Department of Healthcare and Food, within Cardiff Metropolitan University (see www.cardiffmet.ac.uk/health/Pages/Biomedical-Sciences.aspx for details) is seeking to appoint a teaching-focused academic individual to contribute to departmental activities with regard to academic teaching activities, as follows:
- Relevant Learning and Teaching Areas:
- Teaching related to one or more of the following Biomedical Sciences subject areas:
- Anatomy and Physiology (including Exercise Physiology)
- Biochemistry (including Medical Biochemistry)
- Microbiology (including Medical Microbiology)
- Cell and Molecular Biology (including Medical Genetics and Genomics, Bioinformatics)
- Immunology (including Virology)
- Teaching related to one or more of the following Biomedical Sciences subject areas:
- Teaching related to one or more of the following Food Science and Nutrition subject areas:
- Food Microbiology
- Food Analysis
- Teaching related to interpretation and validation of numerical data, especially as related to Health/Biomedicine.
- Also, supervision of undergraduate projects in these areas.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a track record in the above area(s), a good Honours Degree (and/or equivalent professional qualification), and the ability to achieve (within a 3 year period) Fellow Status as part of the Higher Education Academy’s Professional Recognition scheme.
