We are seeking a Research Scientist to be part of Professor Graham Ogg’s group within the Radcliffe Department of Medicine. The postholder will be based at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

The role would suit an individual who is keen to contribute to translational immunology and to be involved in research with direct implications for patients. The purpose of the position is to help develop new approaches to the analysis of T cells in order to understand their role in inflammation and malignancy, with a view to identifying new diagnostics or therapeutics. The successful appointee will use existing and novel approaches to investigate the presence and nature of T cell subsets within human tissues and blood. This will include immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridisation, and may involve approaches related to chip cytometry or tissue mass cytometry in the future. In addition, the appointee will learn and undertake T cell receptor sequencing using high throughput methodology. Although the focus will be on skin and lymph node tissue, other sample sources will also be analysed. The study will likely involve working closely with collaborators in Cambridge.

To be considered for this role you should have extensive experience in immunohistochemistry and experience in in situ hybridisation. You should also be to demonstrate the ability to train others within the research group, e.g. students and visiting workers. You should hold a degree in a relevant biological subject, such as immunology This position is fixed-term for up to 2 years.
