The City College in London is seeking to appoint excellent lecturers to deliver our Pearson BTEC HND Level 4/5 Health and Social Care programme. Applicants must be suitably qualified, have experience of lecturing within an HE environment, and have sector-based professional practice experience.
All applicants must be educated to at least degree level. A teaching qualification is preferred, as is familiarity in working with students whose first language may not be English. Familiarity with QAA and the UK Quality Code is an advantage.
Start date: September 2017, subject to agreement.
Requirements
The people appointed must be proficient in a range of activities at Level 4/5 including, for example, completing assignment briefs, teaching and learning, marking and feedback, verification and raising achievement. Applicants must also be innovative, flexible, organised and possess a ‘can do’ attitude. Attention to detail, meeting deadlines and the ability to work under pressure are prerequisite, as is having an excellent command of English and excellent communication skills. Permission to work in the UK is essential.
In addition ideal applicants will hold a recognised vocational or professional qualification in the health and social care sector. Examples include:
- HCPC registration in England or UK equivalent (social worker, practitioner psychologist, physiotherapist etc)
- NMC registration as a nurse (any speciality) or midwife
- Relevant vocational qualifications (HND in Health and Social Care, BA/Bsc in Health and Social Care, Higher apprenticeship in Health and Social Care, Level 5 Registered Manager Award).
Additionally, applicants must have vocational experience in the sector, for example as a nurse, social worker, registered manager, practitioner psychologist, or equivalent position, and should be able to show continuing professional development in order to have kept up-to-date.
