Detail information about job Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Data Science. Terms and conditions vacancy

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be Grade 7 (£34,056 to £41,163), Grade 8 (£42,304 to £49,904) or Grade 9 (£54,240 to £58,978) per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

Applications are invited for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in data science to contribute to the Department’s developing programme of research and teaching in security and crime science and to the work of the Dawes Centre for Future Crime at UCL

The post will contribute to our plans to build capacity in data science as it relates to crime and security and exploit the potential of data stored in our secure data lab.

The appointee will be expected to undertake high quality research within their own specialist field, which will contribute to the research standing and culture of the Dawes Centre for Future Crime at UCL and the Department more broadly.

Candidates should have a PhD in Data Science or a cognate discipline; a proven track record of high quality publications; and a demonstrated ability to win grant funding.

Experience of analysing big data sets and conducting research, which feeds into professional practice and policy-making, will be an advantage. A background in crime and security is not essential as long as there is the commitment and potential to move into this area.
