This post is part time 0.6 FTE.

Newcastle University and the School of Arts and Cultures is continuing in its investment in research and teaching with the appointment of a Lecturer in Music Technology. The International Centre for Music Studies (ICMuS) at Newcastle University wishes to appoint a 0.6 FTE Lecturer in Music Technology on a permanent contract to make a significant contribution to our collective research and teaching. This is an open, international search, and we are interested in appointing someone who will flourish in our highly plural research culture and who might have interests in any of the following areas: sound technology and/or multimedia production; music production and post-production processing; music broadcasting; multimodal perception and technology, or; music information retrieval in an increasingly global and digitally connected world. We are seeking to appoint an established individual who has a strong track record of research and who may be capable of working across musical and media domains.

You will have a good first degree in Music or related discipline. The successful candidate will be able to show excellence as both a teacher and researcher, with a portfolio of first rate outputs (in any format).

Candidates may contact Dr Simon McKerrell (Head of Music), for informal discussion prior to making an application ([email protected], tel: 0191 208 5609).
