Supervisors: Professors Ian Givens and Julie Lovegrove

Project Overview: Evidence from long-term prospective studies indicates that high consumption of some dairy products is associated with a reduced risk of stroke and type 2 diabetes. Whilst studies indicate possible mechanism for these effects, the body of detailed evidence is small. This project aims to provide new evidence for the effects.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants should hold or expect to gain a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor Degree or equivalent in nutrition or a related subject.
  • Due to restrictions on the funding this studentship is open to UK/EU students.

Funding Details:

  • Starts January 2018.
  • Three year award.
  • Tuition fees plus stipend.
