The Institute of Education is seeking to appoint a dynamic Lecturer / Senior Lecturer who has a genuine passion for education from an educational leadership/school improvement perspective, and is adept at passing on this enthusiasm to our students. We are looking for a highly motivated individual, qualified or studying to doctoral level or equivalent, who not only understands the student experience, but who also thoroughly enjoys and thrives on making a positive impact for their cohorts both in and out of classes.
The Department of Education and Childhood houses a number of programmes (non-ITE); BA (Hons) Education Studies, MA Educational Leadership, MA Education, and PG Cert School Improvement. The successful post-holder will work across a number of these programmes to support the Education agenda.
You would be expected to contribute to the teaching and development of postgraduate / undergraduate programmes, and work with the Head of Postgraduate Studies to ensure efficient and effective delivery of programmes in accordance with the University’s strategic objectives in order to provide an exceptional student experience. As part of programme teams you will ensure that curriculum development, quality management and enhancement comply with required standards. In addition, you will be expected to engage with research activity, contributing to research projects, the work of the department’s research clusters and ensuring research-informed learning. Developing your research reputation within this post to build collaborations and influence leading edge practice developing an active publication record that can contribute to the REF.
