The Department of Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Postgraduate Medicine at the University of Hertfordshire is a vibrant research active community that employs over 100 academic and research staff. The Department offers excellent teaching and research facilities and is seeking to appoint either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics.
Main duties & responsibilities
Work with the pharmaceutics and other discipline teams on the delivery, assessment and evaluation of teaching programmes across the Department. Undertake research in pharmaceutics, in particular applicants with experience of topical drug delivery are encouraged to apply. In addition appointees will be assigned administration responsibilities relating to the teaching and or research activities of the pharmaceutics group.
Appointees to a Senior Lectureship should expect to be assigned university administration roles of increased responsibility relative to a Lectureship. They should also expect to contribute to the development of taught courses and to be able to demonstrate significant research outputs.
Skills and experience needed
The successful applicant would be expected to have experience and knowledge of pharmaceutics, be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team and have excellent organisational and presentation skills.
Qualifications required
Appointees to a Senior Lectureship are expected to already have experience of teaching and developing taught undergraduate programmes and significant university administration experience. They would also be expected to demonstrate a track record in pharmaceutics research.
Applicants must have a minimum of a good honours degree in pharmacy, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or other related scientific discipline and have or be about to obtain a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
