Detail information about job GW4 Developing People Officer. Terms and conditions vacancy
We are pleased to offer an exciting secondment opportunity for a relevantly experienced individual from within or beyond the GW4 alliance. GW4 is a strategic alliance between the four leading South West of England and Wales research-intensive universities; Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter.
The achievement of the goals and aspirations of GW4 depends on our people, and the further enhancement of collaborative leadership and participation skills amongst our academic staff will provide the very foundation on which we can build a successful and thriving partnership. Providing the highest level of professional research support will also be key.
Working closely with members of the Building Capacity and Developing People work-stream, you will be involved in the initiation, design, implementation and co-ordination of a range of development activities, programmes and events to build on existing strengths in these areas. A particular focus for the role holder will be to support the effective delivery of the GW4 Crucible and Tailored Workshops programmes.
You will have some experience of designing and/or co-ordinating training and development projects or similar activities, and will have a well-developed understanding of the academic environment together with experience of working with academics. You will be self-motivated and a confident, influential communicator as well as demonstrating excellent team-working/collaborative skills.
This secondment is offered on a half-time basis until 31 July 2018. The new role holder will be based within the Academic Staff Development (ASD) team at Bristol, though will involve extensive working across all four institutions. The role-holder will be expected to contribute to the broader activities of the ASD team, as appropriate. The role will involve travel and may involve overnight stays. There is some flexibility over the work pattern, but overlap with other members of the team will be important.
