Library Services is the largest division within Academic Services with over 250 staff working in 6 site Libraries. Library Services activities can generally be categorised into three broad areas; Library Academic Engagement; Library Customer Support; and Collection Management and Development. In addition, Special Collections based in the Cadbury Research Library also falls within the broader Library Services organisational remit.
The work of the Customer Support Team has a direct and immediate effect on the experience of individuals. In addition, the quality of Customer Support Services impacts on long term perceptions of Library Services and ultimately on Birmingham as a destination of choice.
The Head of Service Delivery is one of the senior managers in the Library Customer Support team. The post holder is responsible for delivering a strong customer-focussed service across Library Services. They will lead on the delivery of all frontline library services, including public space and the study environment and virtual services across all campus locations.
The post-holder will work closely with the Assistant Director: Library Customer Support and will lead / contribute to Academic Services projects as required.
Full time starting salary is normally in the range £39,324 to £46,924. With potential progression once in post to £52,793 a year.
