Detail information about job Senior Teaching Fellow in Biomedical Sciences (79155-087). Terms and conditions vacancy
Warwick Medical School is developing an innovative new undergraduate BSc degree which will enable students to integrate the many academic disciplines which contribute to our understanding of human health. Student learning will be driven through a series of case scenarios supported by core lectures and small group work. Cases will enable the consideration of underpinning biomedicine; health sciences; politics, ethics and law; public health and the interaction of humans with the environment etc. This is not a professionally focused award but aims to equip graduates with the ability to work across disciplines and understand the inter-related nature of multiple perspectives to enable determination of solutions in health. Graduates will be attractive to employers across a number of social, corporate, NGO and other sectors, with transferable graduate employability skills being clearly inter-woven into the course structure.
We are therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified academics seeking a new challenge in education delivery, who have experience in teaching in one or more subjects which relate to human health, ranging from the biomedical to the population level. We are also recruiting a similar Senior Teaching Fellow post within Biomedical Sciences to support the development and delivery of this programme.
These posts present a unique opportunity to work across the Medical School and the wider University to support the design, development and launch of this exciting new programme. The post-holders will have a background in one or more relevant subject disciplines and experience in the design and delivery of innovative education. They will also be required to have a broad macro-level understanding of the interplay of factors pertaining to human health and a real interest in bringing together different approaches and viewpoints and working across traditional boundaries.
