UCC wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering. Reporting to the Head of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate will undertake research and teaching in applied electrical engineering with particular applications in the power systems, power electronics, electrical machines, or electrical drives areas, and/or relating to research in the application of these areas in sustainability or energy.
Applicants should have relevant degrees to doctorate level in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering or cognate areas, and an appropriate track record of research and publications in areas relevant to Electrical Power Engineering. They should also have relevant experience and/or a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Industry experience, including research links, would be an advantage. In addition to teaching Electrical Power Systems and related areas, the successful candidate will be required to undertake research and generate research funding in key strategically important areas relevant to Electrical Engineering; in the School of Engineering and/or in the University based Research Institutes, such as the Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy (www.marei.ie) and/or the International Energy Research Centre (www.ierc.ie). The successful candidate will also be required to participate in appropriate administrative and/or leadership roles across the discipline, school, and university.
Appointment may be made on the Lecturer Above the Bar Salary Scale: €63,353-€79,200 (Scale B); €60,276-€75,378 (Scale A). In all instances the successful appointment will be at the first point of the scale.
