Fixed Term contract for 30 months

Aerospace is anticipating very large growth and propulsion is a key topic. The Centre for Propulsion Engineering within the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing at Cranfield is continuing to experience large growth and is facing huge opportunities. Its large international activity embraces applied research, industrial short courses and leading MSc and PhD programmes. It enjoys global visibility and extensive links with industry. Its interests encompass novel cycles, gas turbine simulation and engine performance diagnostics. Continuing success and growth, in the Centre has created an exciting opportunity for two propulsion and thermal management systems specialists.
You will be a motivated individual with an intimate knowledge of propulsion and/or thermal management systems. Aerospace systems engineers and researchers are encouraged to apply. You must be educated to Doctorate level (or be close to completion) or alternatively have significant appropriate and relevant industrial experience. You will be familiar with the performance and modelling of a variety of aircraft, thermal management and/or propulsion systems. You will work very closely with the existing team of the Centre for Propulsion Engineering and will make a key contribution to propulsion research. Some teaching and student supervision activities within the Centre will be required. Related experience in systems engineering and modelling will be seen favourably.
