Salary Grade 8 (Lecturer) – £38,833 to £47,722 per annum

Salary Grade 9 (Associate Professor) - £50,618 to £56,950 per annum

Permanent contract

The Innovation, Technology and Operations (INTO) Division of the University of Leicester School of Business is concerned with the production of scientific and technological knowledge as it is embedded in multiple, overlapping organisational and professional contexts. These include both micro-level specific sites (e.g. laboratories, factories, financial services) and macro-level networks (e.g. policy, ‘markets’, naturecultures, technoscience). Our research includes examinations of the scientific and activist construction of permaculture; social studies of finance; actor-network theory approaches to organisation; digital cultures and digital identities; knowledge management; constructing genetic ancestry; material culture and social remembering; and developing mobile research technologies.

Among other qualities, you will have a sincere understanding of and share the School’s vision. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to teaching excellence. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills and be able to inspire both staff and students alike.

In addition to being engaged in innovative learning and teaching, you will have an established reputation for research, with a strong record of publications (appropriate to your level of experience) in peer reviewed journals of substantial standing. You will have excellent networking skills which you use to seek out opportunities for collaboration and citizenship, both internally and externally. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to generate external funding through research grants, contracts or other sources.

Finally, you will have a track record of engaging with a range of communities related to your research and teaching interests, including external organisations.

Informal enquiries are welcome. In the first instance, please email Kerry Whatmore on [email protected], with details of a convenient time and telephone number. The relevant Head of Division will then contact you for a confidential discussion about the role.
