Are you an experienced administrator with considerable experience of working in a financial environment? Are you seeking a new and exciting opportunity working within a customer service environment?

We are seeking to recruit a part time GOETEC Administrator for a fixed term period of 1 year. You will be based at the University of Kent which is the lead organisation for the consortium and will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and financial support to the GOETEC consortium.

Reporting to the Administration Manager and working closely with the GOETEC General Manager you will also provide some cross cover for administration within the Information Services department.

You will support the GOETEC General Manager to manage the consortium’s business processes facilitating the efficient running of the consortium to further its main aims and objectives and will directly liaise with the GOETEC Management Board and other working groups as required.

GOETEC is a small consortium supporting the shared technology interests of the tertiary education community in Kent.

Its members are currently:

  • Canterbury Christ Church University
  • University of Greenwich
  • University of Kent
  • Kent County Council (associate)

As a GOETEC Administrator you will:

Provide effective, efficient and high quality administrative support, covering a broad range of duties including organising people, IT equipment and contracts.

Mange the process and data input of financial transactions using the University finance system and any other appropriate systems including reconciliation, identification and problem resolution of consortium financial transactions posted to the University finance system.

Arrange and support meetings involving senior representatives from several institutions and producing high quality, detailed minutes of a range of meetings.

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Be educated to GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above or equivalent and have ECDL or equivalent IT qualification or willingness to acquire.
  • Have considerable and demonstrable experience of working in a financial environment.
  • Proven and considerable experience of working to deadlines in a demanding administrative role with accuracy and attention to detail.

Information Services is comprised of four sections: Customer Support, Library Collections and IT Development together directly support almost all areas of University activity, and the Planning and Administration section supports the work of the department. The IT Support Services subsection of Customer Services is responsible for the support and operation of all live central IT systems on the University’s Canterbury, Medway and Tonbridge campuses.
