Together our staff and students are discovering innovative ways to change the world for the better and there has never been a more exciting time for you to join us. We are ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide and have an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research. We are led by discovery and innovation, with the synergy between research and learning at the core of our activity.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Clinical Trials Unit that is going places. Established in 2009 this UKCRC registered unit has a growing portfolio of clinical trials in a wide range of clinical areas, including cancer, cardiovascular, respiratory, diabetes and mental health. The unit employs a multidisciplinary team including statisticians, trial management staff, database developers, programmers and administrators.

Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) researchers are world-leading scientists and clinicians who drive the discovery, development and testing of new treatments to combat cancer. Leicester is one of 18 centres that form the national ECMC Network. Our aim is to establish the Leicester Centre as a world leading Centre of Excellence delivering novel adaptive early phase clinical studies linked with translational and reverse translational research investigations in order to establish new treatment paradigms. This is an exciting position for a medical statistician to join an expanding team. Joint funded by both the Leicester Clinical Trials Unit and Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre this new position will be responsible for developing existing research in the cancer portfolio, building on existing collaborations and projects to expand research in this area.

Medical Statisticians play a key role in the delivery of the research portfolios, actively liaising with clinical and academic investigators to design and develop research proposals, being responsible for producing the clinical trial or study analyses and playing an important part in the presentation and publication of results.

The successful candidate will have an MSc or PhD in Statistics OR a relevant higher degree with experience of working as an applied medical statistician.
