Are you an early career researcher looking for your first challenge? Do you have a background in single molecule nanotechnology? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious, and self-motivated scientist to join the labortory of Dr Isuru Jayasinghe on a 20 month Wellcome Trust Seed funded project.
You will support the refinement of a new microscopy technique called DNA-PAINT and its preliminary application to studying biological tissues. The role will involve the production and refinement of imaging probes which are either DNA-protein conjugates or DNA nanostructures and their application through custom-made microfluidic devices integrated into a state-of-the-art single molecule localisation microscope. The probes will be used for immunolabelling of a range of tissues to visualise intrinsic protein and membrane structures.
You will have first degree/Masters in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, Physics, Biological Sciences, Medical Sciences, or a closely allied discipline, along with experience in nucleic acid chemistry and fluorescence microscopy.
