A Senior Student Finance Manager is required to work within the Directorate of Student and Academic Services based at our Avery Hill Campus. This role will provide effective leadership and management of the student finance information, advice and guidance services and the administration, monitoring, assessment and disbursement of funds, scholarships and bursaries to students in line with statutory and University provisions.

You will take a pivotal role in the planning, management, delivery and provision of information, advice and guidance to prospective and current students on all aspects of financial support via publications, web based information, open days, talks and individual casework. You will also hold responsibility for the monitoring, management, assessment and disbursement of Federal Student Aid and its equivalents and work with the FSA regulations and procedures regarding Graduate Apprenticeships. You will also assist the Assistant Director Student & Academic Services (Student Services) in ensuring that the various elements for the delivery of advice guidance and information and funds and bursary administration are undertaken efficiently and effectively and act on their behalf as and when necessary. 

Significant demonstrable experience of working in UK Higher Education in a student finance information advice and guidance role is essential to this role, as is an expert knowledge of the student support systemsavailable to students in the UK with specific reference to those who come under the Student Finance England provisions and regulations. You will have staff management experience in an information advice and guidance role and significant experience of the assessment and disbursement of student financial support funding.

In addition: you will have the ability to undertake business process reviews; project/event management experience; be used to working within strict budgets; have experience of delivering training; possess a methodical approach that shows attention to detail and be able to convey precise information in a clear and effective manner to diverse groups. You will be computer systems literate with excellent, verbal and written skills, able to manage a team and have excellent interpersonal skills that demonstrate a customer focused approach. As a good team player you will also be able to work on your own and able to prioritise, organise and deliver a complex and changing workload under pressure, without constant supervision and to tight deadlines.
