Starting date: Immediate, one year contract (renewal to be considered)

Central European University is seeking a strong transformation and change leader to manage the introduction of ERP software that manages the student lifecycle. This is a significant transformation project for CEU. The implementation is currently underway.

The Student Information Systems Lead is responsible for managing the ongoing implementation of the Student Information System and preparing the University for a unified, cross-unit managed efficient student information as ‘business as usual’ service and needs to both manage the change and process improvement as well as the technical aspects. This includes:

  • Overseeing implementation management, including managing two full-time process and change leads, working on core administrative processes and devolved user administration processes
  • Reporting to and staffing the Student Information Systems Steering Group (comprised of Vice President for Administration (project sponsor), Vice President for Enrollment Careers and Alumni, and the Dean of Students) and the Systems Advisory Board.
  • Managing the Student Information Systems Development Group, responsible for the subject matter expertise for the implementation (two full-time database technical staff plus one analyst/developer and six part-time subject matter experts supporting project)
  • Coordinating the Student Information Systems User Group, responsible for providing user input and coordinating user training.
  • Managing the vendors and external resources.
  • Managing ongoing communications

The Lead will be empowered to represent the Student Information System management across the University, working directly with faculty, staff and students, and as appropriate to the Rector and Provost.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Significant experience (5+ documented, on specified projects) leading large transformational ERP implementation projects across multiple functions/disciplines, preferably in a higher education environment
  • Evidence of the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to influence and persuade at all levels of staff seniority; and proven leadership and the ability to manage when there is no direct reporting relationship
  • Knowledge or understanding of software development lifecycle principles and methodologies
  • Strong results orientation
  • Expertise in defining and improving processes
  • Ability to make difficult decisions and to involve others sufficiently in the decision-making process
  • Familiarity and experience with ITIL (ITIL Foundations)
  • Familiarity with project management tools (preferably JIRA, Sharepoint, MS Project)

Compensation:Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Initial contract is for 1 year with possibility of renewal.
