Job Purpose

To develop, manage and deliver: College/School specific employer events and events associated with the expansion of the Career Service profile amongst students to encourage greater engagement. To support the other Events Manager in expanding key existing core events.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To manage and expand existing events including the core recruitment fairs and First Tuesday Club speaker series.

2. Work with the Business Relations Team Manager and Careers Managers to develop new College/School-specific events and formats, including the sourcing of speakers and attendees as well as all associated event logistics including securing venues.

3. To develop timelines and marketing plans, both on and off line, for these events.

4. To proactively develop new customers for these events.

5. To manage all technical aspects of events by negotiating with venue staff, catering providers and other such providers.

6. To continuously develop and manage a database of employer contacts to record their interest and attendance at Careers Service events.

7. To set up and maintain financial record keeping systems for events and to produce financial reports for management on a regular basis.

8. In consultation with the other Events Manager, to set up, monitor and evaluate feedback from events - normally within two weeks of an event - and produce reports for the effective planning of future events.

9.To proactively develop new sponsorship streams and continue to grow income levels from current events.

10. To attend and contribute to Careers Service and Business Relations Team meetings.

11. To be committed to high standards of customer service at all times.

Standard Terms & Conditions

Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 6, £28,098 - £31,604 pro rata, per annum.

This post is part time (Tuesday and Wednesday: 14 hours per week) and open ended.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
