We are looking to appoint an experienced Quality Assurance Officer with specific responsibility for collaborative provision. The role will be based in the Quality Assurance team, part of Quality Support Services within Academic Services.

A good understanding and working knowledge of key external reference points such as the QAA UK Quality Code (Chapter B10 in particular), CMA guidance and their articulation in a UK HE context is essential, as is an understanding and experience of the approval, ongoing management and oversight of collaborative provision both in the UK and overseas.

The appointee will work directly with the Head of Quality Assurance and Collaborative provision in maintaining accurate and definitive records of the University’s collaborative activities, including the University’s register of collaborative provision. Full oversight and monitoring of institutional agreements and their renewal dates, ensuring that any review/re-approval processes are completed to schedule and participating in these activities as required. You will demonstrate a thorough understanding and previous experience of the approval processes for new partnerships including due diligence processes and collation of evidence, facilitation and oversight of the completion of institutional agreements with collaborative partners.

You will also act as Officer (Panel Secretary) to institutional and/or programme (re)approval events for collaborative provision as required. Proven experience of advising and guiding Panels on matters of policy and regulation and the completion of high quality written reports of approval events is essential.

On a day-to-day basis you will be expected to provide well informed and expert advice to key staff at BCU and its collaborative partners on quality assurance policies and procedures pertaining to collaborative provision and to act as a key point of contact for the institution.

You will also be expected to contribute to the development of policy for collaborative provision, supporting the Head of Quality Assurance & Collaborative Provision. Previous experience of contributing to policy and procedural developments in this area and an awareness of sector good practice would therefore be advantageous.

An awareness of other aspects of collaborative provision including the approval and management of progression and articulation arrangements is also highly desirable though not essential.

The Person

You must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to assimilate and evaluate data and information quickly to provide informed advice. You will have excellent communication skills both verbally and written. You will have excellent time management skills and will manage a wide range of tasks and your time proactively and efficiently. Being an adept user of MS Office applications are essential for the role, including PowerPoint and Access.

Collaborative provision and related activities will form a significant part of this role. You will therefore be expected to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and intercultural awareness when managing relationships with our collaborative partners.

In order to carry out your duties, in particular those relating to collaborative provision, you will be expected to be able to travel both within the UK and overseas.
