We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic individual to work as a Research Support Assistant in the laboratory of Dr Ashley Toye in the School of Biochemistry. Funding is available for 3 years in the first instance.
The Toye laboratory studies erythrocyte biology and erythropoiesis in health and disease. In particular the lab is interested in the efficient production of erythrocytes (red blood cells) and their maturation, produced by culturing stem cells from human peripheral blood from donors or erythroid cell lines.
The primary responsibilities of the role will be to help maintain smooth running of the laboratory and provide research support for a busy laboratories on going research projects. This position would particularly suit a graduate in Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related subject.
