Location: University ParkSalary: £22,494 to £26,829 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
Applications are invited for the above part-time, permanent post based in the School of English, Trent Building, University Park campus. Candidates must be able to work flexibly on occasion during the evening or weekends at a research event/conference if required. The successful candidate will provide administrative support for the research and knowledge exchange activities and projects undertaken by staff and students based in the School of English.
The Senior Administrator will join a team of administrative staff to work with academic and administrative staff to support the School’s commitment to the University’s Strategy for 2020. Main areas of responsibility will include administration to support research, knowledge exchange, externally funded research projects, research events and conferences, as well as school based support for research students. Applicants must be educated to at least HNC/HND level or equivalent (in a relevant subject) and have a good general standard of education including Maths and English GCSE or equivalent (grade C or above). A financial qualification would be desirable. Applicants must also have a proven track record of relevant work experience in a University environment as well as strong IT skills for managing large amounts of financial data (including Microsoft Office and web-editing software). Applicants should also have excellent oral and written communication skills, experience of conference and event management, managing projects and a proactive approach to problem solving. This post requires candidates to have a high degree of initiative, responsibility, self-motivation and professionalism.
This post is available from late-September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. Hours of work will be 30 per week to be worked in agreement with the School over 4-5 days per week.
