Detail information about job Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Burdett Trust Nurse Retention Project). Terms and conditions vacancy

At BU our vision is to create a stimulating, challenging and rewarding University experience, through sharing a unique fusion of education, research and professional practice and inspiring our students and staff to enrich the world. Our highly skilled and creative workforce is comprised of individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, and who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives and experiences to build our global learning community.

The Faculty has a reputation for meeting the evolving education and research needs for future healthcare practice.  The department prepares nursing students and post-graduate health professionals for a future in interdisciplinary team working, promoting health, undertaking research and providing safe, effective humanised care.  The Nursing Research Cluster is the forum in which academics and practitioners support and influence the strategic direction and profile of nursing research locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The post-holder will take day-to-day responsibility for the conduct and co-ordination of a project funded by the Burdett Trust for Nursing. This collaborative, project will test an innovative evidence-based model for improving nurse retention: TRACS (Transition, Resilience, Authentic leadership, Commitment, Support). In summary, working with one large NHS Trust, a ‘bottom-up’ co-created retention strategy and tool-kit, based on principles underpinning TRACS will be developed and implemented in one high-risk Directorate. A robust evaluation will run alongside. The project will develop and refine an adaptable and evidence-based retention model, acting as an exemplar that will be transferable to any healthcare setting where nurses are employed.

You will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and have relevant experience of research fieldwork in health or a closely related area. Ideally you will also have experience of working in hospital care environments.

This post is available on a fixed-term basis for up to 18 months.
